About

My art is a playful celebration of the wilds of Montana. I explore and share the joy of wildflowers splashing colors across the landscapes, trees communicating within their own community, changing skies, and the flora and fauna at home in this environment. My hope is when you use one of my clay pieces, you will feel this connection to the Montana landscape and enjoy its beauty.

I grew up in the wilds of Montana in awe of the open spaces, the plants and the critters that are all around. From the back of my horse, strapped in skis or in my hiking boots, I have explored much of this lovely state during all seasons.

For many years, I worked as an educator, bringing my enthusiasm and a love of the visual world to scores of children. One of the biggest lessons I learned from all of these students is that we all have a drive to create and enjoy handmade things.

I bring many images of my Montana life to the unique art I create. This includes Aspen trees, birds and wildflowers. I hand build with stoneware clay, making slabs to form into vessels, plates, tiles and more. Using a palette of vibrant colors, I playfully glaze the images.

These sturdy stoneware pieces are microwave and dishwater safe. They will give you and your loved ones years of pleasure!

When you see or hold my work, I hope you can find a connection to Montana’s beautiful environment. I also believe my work will make you smile!
